See. This. Lack. is a series of video installations that voice the dilemma faced by individuals with dyslexia. The video installation of talking heads allows viewers to observe a range of expression with genuine emotions as participants attempt to pronounce a set of phonetics: a standardised method of the sounds of spoken language to improve reading, yet seems to foreign to the eyes of all. This humour pulls participants and viewers in whereby their senses are heightened yet it juxtaposes how the brain process leads to an automatic involuntary experience. Feelings of anxiety, of the power relations of language further question one to self-analyse, am I dyslexic too?
