AMAZE
August- November 2018
AMAZE was influenced by the potential to create contemporary art form from the community and corporate. In line with the team's initiative for sustainability in creation, they managed to get 6000 of these plastic bottles to be donated to this project by Mandarin Oriental Singapore. These recycled bottles were manually cleaned, drilled, strung and hanged, acting as a backdrop of a complex pathway; a maze. Audience members are encouraged to step in the maze and allow themselves to be swayed, as they figure out the limitless capabilities of a humble everyday object such as plastic bottles, and the potential for its inexhaustible usage. A fantastically Instagram-able piece and on a perfect day, the slight breeze that rustle through these bottles create a soothing melody. One that we might be unfamiliar with because we are so used to the mechanical noise and mass vocal sounds that occur in that area. The lights go on from 7pm-11pm at night.
